Have just stopped bf my 10 mo ds (some of you will have seen my thread about that!) and for the first few days he was happy to guzzle formula - but now he is only having a good feed in the morning and won't really take any more over the day, and really won't before bedtime. He is probably getting 300ml a day max. Does this matter?? He has a good diet, varied with plenty of dairy products etc..
TIA!

MY three are very much like this when they stop BF tier intake drops dramatically, I feed them lots of yoghurts and dairy products instead with breakfast serial

Nor will my children drink full fat milk (they may not be the norm though)

Hi Cheriton

I am in a similar position - my dd is 8 months. I make up 3 x 7 oz bottles a day but DD never drinks that much. In the morning she only has about 3-4oz so I pour the remainder over her cereal. She only has about 4-5oz at lunch. She tends to have a bit more at bedtime but last night only had 3oz.

I don't worry about it now as she has lots of white sauces, yoghurts, cheese etc.

same here, dd (10 months) eats a good varied diet but is only really interested in her bedtime bottle. Im sure she's getting the right amount of calcium / iron etc throughout the day from her solids though so am not concerned.

My DS now 2.9 didn't drink the recommended amount of formula at a simular age. My HV said as long as he was getting milk from other sources such as milk in cooking and yoghurts etc no need to worry. If your DS seems well and is growing/developing as he should there is no need to worry.

Favs include banana and custard, icecream, cauliflower cheese, macaroni cheese, salmon in cheese sauce, trifle...
