Should I consider follow on milk?

So the company I get my formula from is now requesting that customers only buy stage 1 milk if their baby is under 6 months, to make sure there is enough for the babies who need it.

I don't want to be antisocial, but I've still been buying stage 1 milk for my seven month old as recommended by the NHS, our health visitor, etc. Should I be considering follow on milk instead?

I’m normally swerve follow on milk as I see it just as a marketing ploy to get round rules on advertising formula

But these are exceptional times, and your baby is old enough to move on.

I think in these circumstances you should.

I think the only difference is more iron in the follow on milks as they have depleted the stores they were born with.

We did move on so I could get boots points, DS didn't notice any difference.

Thanks both - I'll definitely consider it if stocks are low at our supermarket. We've actually been ok so far, but I wouldn't want to cause anyone stress.

The formualtions are very similar, but stage 2 is not as appropriate for under 6 months, so yes, I think you can safely move to stage 2 now. Not sure why HV would recommend you to keep on using first infant milk anyways...
