Hi, I asked a couple of doctors and they said I was fine to be prescribed the combined pill 6 weeks pp and breastfeeding. It’s been two weeks and I’ve noticed my milk is really really low!!!! Im gutted and stopping the pill today / had sex two days ago though / is the injection okay for bf? Please help!

Injection, implant, mini pill, coil are all ok for bf.

Shouldn't take combined pill when breastfeeding.

Guidance changed and it can be prescribed from 6 weeks when bt. There are still concerns it affects milk supply though.

I used the minipill initially and have recently swapped to combined with no noticeable effect on supply, but it was very well established (2 years!) before I swapped

They'd only give me the mini pill for BF, and it turned me into a monster, with constant bleeding. They said combined pill wasn't suitable. I ended up getting the copper coil because synthetic hormones disagreed with their standards and my body. It's great to observe my natural cycle, and it's helped my mood, plus no BF issues.
