Milk supply gone and son won’t take a bottle

My son is three months old and due to a suspected allergy I have been put on a very restricted diet by the paediatrician to help settle his tummy (he’s EBF). I started this diet on Monday and yesterday noticed my milk supply had hugely decreased (feel less full, he has been fussy, doing fewer poos and I pumped before bed and only produced 1oz from both sides when I used to produce 10oz).

He has been EBF and will not take a bottle. I have only pumped in the past to try and build a supply of milk in the freezer but every time we try and give him a bottle he refuses.

I’m incredibly worried now - I’ve been on the sofa feeding him all day but he’s continually crying because he’s hungry and my supply doesn’t seem to be going up at all.

Any advice on what I can do would be hugely appreciated!

What is his wee output like? Fewer poos could be due to your milk containing the allergen rather than you not having enough milk. When you say you used to get 10oz is that recently or the early day?

Are you eating enough calories and drinking enough? You need to make sure you are eating and drinking enough.

What are you excluding? What do you normally like to eat?

Could it be a leap? I'm sure there is one at 3 months. Might be cluster feeding. What's nappy output like ?

Thanks for your reply.

He seems to have the same amount of wet nappies - 5 so far today. 10 oz was in mid/end Jan (I haven’t pumped since because then I had an oversupply issue and pumped last night to try and stimulate it again). I don’t think I can pump again tonight as he’s constantly wanting to feed now.

We started with cutting dairy, eggs and soy but that didn’t help so now I’ve been told to only have meat, fish, fruit and veg until it settles down. I would usually have eaten a lot of eggs, porridge, rice, bread and pasta. I’ve been trying to get my calories up by eating lots of starchy veg and I’ve been drinking a lot of water but so far it hasn’t helped. I’ve just had a massive bowl of porridge which I know I shouldn’t have on this but I’m desperate for him to have something to eat!
