Pain during feeding.

Over the last couple of days I've begun to get some pain in left boob during feeding.
It's not all the time, but about 5 - 10 mins into feeding, and the pain is on the inside not on the nipple.
Any ideas why?
That side has always got less supply and I wondered if that was contributory?

Sometimes you can get a pain when bf, my cousin (bf enthusiast) said it's the milk ducts emptying or filling, can't remember which.

But ... are you showing any signs of mastitis or thrush? any fever, aches, redpatch on boob?

I'm no medical expert so would wait to see what MN's suggest, depending on pain poss see hv of gp?

Supply and demand for the side with less, are you ok with that side having less or are you concerned?

How old is baby?

On a lighter note, I have a pain in the neck .... it's my dh but thats another story!!

I have lots of pain in the necks!!
I'm ok with that side being less, always try to feed twice from that side and has increased a little.
Nothing else noticable - fever/bumps etc..

I used to get a sort of achy feeling in one breast, sort of deep inside that came on partway through a feed, continued for a little while afterwards then went. It never came to anything and stopped as suddenly as it started. I've no idea what it was, I put it down to changes in supply or a second let down during a feed.

Could be, sounds quite similar - but its quite painful.

If its like the milk duct emptying/filling feeling it was like a sharp shooting pain that lasted a second or two. DIdn't happen every feed and hasn't happend for ages!

If you're not happy with responses I'd get it checked out, hope someone else can help??

I get something similar which I assume is let down, like a scratchy feeling on the inside - does that sound like it?

Sometimes it's like a scratchy feeling, but sometimes it's like an ache from nipple to bottom of boob.
Seems to last for a while and often I have to take him off as it gets too painful.
