How often/long should me 3 week old feed?

My ds2 has gone from 2-3 hourly to 3-4 hourly and from feeding for up to an hour to up to 45 mins - average 30 mins.
Is this normal? He's been putting on weight ok - poo/wees plenty.
Should he be feeding more?

he will feed when hes hungry and when hes full he'll stop

Youre doing just fine......as long hes putting the weight on then theres nothing to worry about

sounds ok but it may well change again when he has a growth spurt (6 weeks ish)

Trina, as your baby gets older it gets more efficient at sucking. My ds2 is now 6 weeks old and his feeds have gone from over an hour down to 15 mins, and he will sleep for 6 hours at night too (not all babies do this but just as an example of how things change!). The nappies and the weight are your guide, as you said in your OP.
