Colic?

Dd is only 9 days old. Has a tongue tie that we've got an appointment for next week. As a result dd doesn't latch deeply making bf painful, she gets frustrated and very windy. Winding often doesn't work and she'll be writhing in pain for ages, tucking her legs up, making fists, screaming, arching her back.

I mentioned it to a friend who said it could be colic. Looking at the NHS website she does do almost everything it says.

Can a baby this little get colic?
Is it worth trying some infacol?
Am I being ridiculous holding out hope that the tongue tie procedure will magically cure her wind?

Sounds exactly like a baby with tongue tie to me. Colic is usually unexplained crying, whereas you know exactly what the problem is Thanks

Newborns do this a lot, their guts aren’t used to processing anything and so the feeling is very strange and unsettling to them. Hence the crunching up and being generally pissed off about it!

I’d keep doing what you’re doing and see if the tt snip helps. Then you can reassess after that.

How are her nappies? Frequently wet and poo?
