Baby refusing bottle and cup

Hi all

My DS has been EBF for 7.5 months and I’ve decided I’d like to gradually wean him off breastfeeding. I’ve got personal reasons and it’s not a decision I’ve taken lightly and I feel riddled with guilt so please no replies telling me to continue because it’s an emotional subject.
Anyway, he’s only ever had the occasional bottle and never been great at taking it but now I’m trying to replace a feed with formula he’s going nuts at the sight of the bottle. He also won’t take milk from a cup.
I just don’t know what to do, I feel so stuck on how to encourage him to take it. I’ve tried others giving it to him with me out of the room or house, 4 different bottles and teats, 2 cups, different formula, expressed milk all to no avail.
He’s currently on solids twice a day and just wondering whether maybe he even needs the mid morning feed im trying to cut out at all or if he’s ready to drop it? What do you think? Any tips on weaning from breastfeeding would be much appreciated. X

7.5 months is pretty good going. Some people don't make it 7.5 weeks.

I had a bottle refuser. She was not interested in formula or breast milk from a bottle. Any bottle. I even got one that looked like a boob. When she went to nursery at 9 months I just fed her before and after and she survived on solids through the day. At 12 months she bizarrely was totally fine accepting cows milk from a bottle.

Good luck!
