How long should my six week old be feeding for at each feed?

Mine can take a good 45 minutes, this seems too long?

Nope!

As long as they want.

They are cluster feeding to get your supply up, as well as learning how to do it themselves.

As long as they are putting on weight, nappies all ok then the best thing to do is go with the flow.

6 weeks is a big growth spurt, so it's natural for baby to be feeding pretty much constantly I'm afraid to say! Just settle yourself in, get any support you can, and go with the flow.

45 mins is the top range of normal (20-45minutes is optimum). If baby is satisfied after 45 minutes then job done!
If after feeding baby is still cranky, does not seem satisfied, not putting on weight then seek advice.
Your baby is quite young and they do get more proficient at it as they get older. Have the remote/snacks/ your phone/books at hand for feeds and try to relax knowing you can't move for a bit (at the beginning I found it hard to relax as I saw the mess of the place/jobs I had to do all around me! Once I gave in and thought I can't move for a bit I might as well relax it didn't feel like such a chore!)

Normal. Especially afternoon/early evening. They are growing and the more milk they have, the more milk you produce to align with their growth spurt.
