Reflux! Oh the vomiting...

Advice needed!
3 month old, formula fed, so much sick it is unbelievable. Projectile vomit everyday at least twice, if not every feed. She is putting on weight and weeing and pooing fine but the vomiting is very distressing for her.
GP and health visitor seem to think it isn’t reflux and just wind but she seems to have all the classic symptoms: arching the back, very restless during feed, vomit smells very acidy etc.
GP reluctantly prescribed infant gaviscon so I’m wondering whether this actually helps? I’m worried it won’t work and just make her constipated. I’ve tried infacol and she does burp easier but no help with the sick.

Infant gaviscon ime just causes constipation. Solves one problem, causes another. I flatly revised to give it to my second baby. First was a horrendous silent refluxer (no vomit, just pain) and I learned the hard way.

Ranitidine (Zantac) is what you want, a GP can prescribe it. Wasn't strong enough for my first with the silent reflux (she needed Omeprazole too which only a paediatrician can prescribe) but it sorted my second baby (the vomiter!) our a treat from 6 weeks.

Oh and my second didn't have any of the back arching etc. She wasn't unhappy at all, just an exorcist style puker. The arching etc comes with silent reflux, generally. Excessive vomiting constantly is reflux. Get a second opinion or ask for a referral to a gastric paediatrician.
