Moving to cows milk- how to manage at night

Hi our 1 year old is ready to move to cows milk. He is a very light sleeper, waking up a lot at night and has formula milk twice at night from a Beaker (around 11pm and 5pm). We hardly get any sleep at night as he wakes up a lot. With formula milk, at least making it is easy as we keep a warm water thermos upstairs. With cows milk I guess the only option will be to come down at night and warm it up so we r less inclined to do it.

So

  1. Is there any down sides (other than money) to continue formula
  2. Any tips or suggestions regarding managing cows milk for night?

Thank you very much

We are in a similar situation. To be honest my plan is to stop the night time milk completely! I know he doesn’t need it, it’s habit. I’m going to offer water instead.
This is what we did with DD2 and it worked, but DS is a bit more of a milk monster so will see how it goes!

To answer your question though there’s no reason not to continue formula after 12 months if that’s what you want to do. It won’t harm them.

Just give him water and make sure he gets a vitamin appropriate for his age like Abidec. We don't need to give children the milk of another animal.
