When to express?????

I’ve been expressing for a week now, my son is 5 weeks today. I’m purely expressing to stock up for times I won’t be home for a few hours and DH can give a bottle.
I’m getting in a pickle when to express? I know my
Breasts will never run out of milk but I tend to drain then when they’re full and he’s asleep. Is this the right thing to do? I’ve tried after a feed but literally get nada. TIA X

If you are doing it when he's asleep, and it's roughly the same time each day, it will be absolutely fine Smile

I have just bought a NatureBond silicone cup/pump thing from Amazon, and I put this on my opposite boob whilst feeding and have easily been collecting 50ml at each feed. It's so easy and no pumping required! I was sceptical about this product before buying but it is honestly amazing for £13! I can't believe I didn't get one sooner! This way I get a little expressed milk at each feed and it saves me leaking milk everywhere.

@thisyeargoodyear- have just ordered one thank you for the tip!
Funnily enough when I got up to feed this morning my breast pads were soaked and I thought what a waste so would be great to collect the milk x
