ds is nearly 7 wks old and I still have problems latching him on right breast (no problems with the left) Finally thought we were getting somewhere in the last couple of wks, pain easing but now nipple is bleeding. HV says I'm lucky to have it so easy on one side and maybe the right is always going to be more difficult. Help please, don't want to give up but thought we'd have the hang of it by now, have read all the info on how it's done but still have problems getting him to open wide. Feel like such a failure

SueQ, DS was the same with my r.boob. loved the left, so this has always been the fuller one. I used lansinoh to help, as the right nipple was bleeding and i expressed off it when too painful to feed and it did get better. You'll prob see a real difference in the next couple of weeks, it all just seems to settle into place. good luck.

Good on you for persevering up to 7 wks...my baby is almost 10 wks and I am still struggling with 'righty!'- long story...but I have always found the Left boob much easier to feed from. I still offer the right boob, but always express if bub won't take it = as it is often uncomfortable...getting there though...keep your chin up, there is some great advice on this topic.
