Hi. DS is 7 months old. Has been breast feeding well, putting on weight well and generally a happy little soul. Until...
He cut his first teeth at about 5 months, we also starts weaning at this time which he has taken to really well and eats great. Mixture of jars, purees and ring foods. Brest feeds became led frequent which was fine. Since the first (sharp razor like) teeth came in we have had periods of 2-3 days when he bites. I'm assuming its when his other teeth are making a move. I've persevered through a couple of these periods but at the minute he's been biting for 3 days and I'm not sure I can go on.
My nipples are sore and have tiny graze like marks. When he feeds and bites I pull away and this upsets him and stops the feed. I now have rock hard lob sided tender boobs and a screaming baby. He wont take a bottle ( I have tried many different kinds ) and never has. Not doing great with a sippy cup either. He will drink very very slowly from a beaker or small cup. I can hand express a little which is still more than I get with the pump for some reason. I can manage this but its really time consuming and I have a 2 year old DD who is getting starved for attention. Really seems to dislike formula. The only feed he is taking fully without assaulting my boobs is during the night and this is just about stopping my boobs exploding from my chest!
So... Any advice on stopping the biting, moving on or about anything else I can try with feeding? Feel free to point out the bleeding obvious that I may have forgotten!
