4mo suddenly doesn't want bottle

Hello, my 4 month old has been refusing his bottle for about 2 weeks. He's literally turning his head every time the bottle comes toward him, eventually he will feed as he must be hungry but he doesn't want the bottle. He's also been extremely irritable and not wanting to sleep alone, (crying every time I put him down & wont settle) being quite sick & belly gurgling after milk. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be the milk I'm using or his maybe just his teeth ??

This isn't normal for a four month old. I would get him seen by the GP.

Have you tried a teat with slightly faster flow (so you can see the hole is bigger)?
Perhaps he is frustrated that he is sucking too hard, is too tiring for him?
If it is not that, perhaps consider the formula type might be giving him pains on digestion?

I think it often is normal for a four month old. I’d suggest every time he needs a feed doing so in a quiet, dark bedroom at home. At four months babies can become much too distracted by the surroundings to focus on feeding and then end up hangry and making up for it overnight.

Hi we had this problem too and realised we were still giving him 0+ teat. So we switched up and it worked he started taking his feeds. My little one has been suffering from gurgling tummy too. We think this is down to reflux. We found giving him gripe water and burping him for 20mins worked

We use size 3 tests so I don't think it's that. Will speak to HV

Hi

My 4mo has been like this recently, he had not long had his needles and they have always affected him a lot so I put it down to that.

It has become apparent in the last week or so that teething has started! He has lost his appetite and I almost have to wrestle him to feed now!

So it could be the start of teething perhaps.
