My 6 week old is only taking about 2-3 ounces every roughly 2 hours. Seems happy when hes had it and will sleep that two hours. Is there any way he'll take more and sleep a bit longer? Or if its not broke dont fix it? Hes putting wieght on well he weighs 11lb 6oz. Was born at 8lb 2oz.

Stomach still very small and waking so often is really really normal

I think this is normal for his age and will change in a few weeks as he gets bigger/older.

Completely normal, tiny stomach still so will feed often. He'll let you know when he's ready to take bigger quantities

Aw thanks guys. The box of formula says he should be on 5 ounces by now. Hes my 1st formula fed baby so it's all new to me

Remember the box is a guideline. He'll be taking the same amount, just little and often

As long as nappy output is ok and he's following a line, it's all good

Is baby falling asleep on the bottle?
I've found a lot of babies do this and dont drink as much as they would if they were still awake. Sometimes they also just get tired of sucking.
It might be worth jiggling the teat about a bit when the baby is finished, maybe taking it out and putting it back a couple of times, it sometimes reminds them to carry on drinking, ensuring they ate fully winded too. Sometimes the teat/bottle combination is hard work for the baby and they are sucking so hard it literally tries them out so the physically cant drink anymore. Both of these are with considering.

Having said that different children have different appetites in the same way adults do, if baby is sleeping reasonably I'd leave it, however if they amount of sleep doesnt increase past two hour intervals I would say your baby needs yo start having bigger quantities.

Sometimes he falls asleep sometimes he dosent. He is having little awake periods where hes content.
