Is this silent reflux?

DD (7 weeks) is combination fed, she is happy and settled nearly most of the time, she sleeps fine throughout the day and also in her car seat.

She has started groaning and wriggling very loudly at around 2 Am , it's very loud it wakes me and sounds so uncomfortable. She doesn't cry but it goes on and on I end up picking her up and putting her on my chest which she will sleep soundly- Obviously not a long term solution.

She is a very hiccupy baby despite being kept upright for as long as possible after a feed she regularly gets hiccups when laid down to nap, play or change her nappy.

I can't bring myself to put her on her front to sleep, I'm too much of a worrier, although I know she would be much happier on her front.

I have raised the crib on one side and am considering changing bottles/ formula etc

Is this silent reflux?

Any help welcome to a very tired FTM

I wouldn’t think so if it only happens in the middle of the night, she’d have symptoms all the time. Are you sure it’s not wind?

Thanks for replying Lou573

I have become quite vigilant with winding after a feed as I thought this could be it. Not sure what more I can do.

DD2 suffered with silent reflux and she was in crippling pain after every feed. However she suffered with tummy pain and trapped wind in the early days to and many nights would sleep on my chest after a feed to ease her discomfort. Does your LO suffer with constipation or anything? I changed DD formula around 7 weeks and that helped with the tummy wind issues however made the reflux a lot worse. DD is now nearly 5 months and age plays a big part in all this. Least your DD is happy etc maybe she just wants to be close to mummy??

I'm confident she's not constipated, she will fuss and squirm for a couple of minutes but then have a rather loud poo and be settled after that . I have noticed we've had more "up the back" poos in the last couple of days which makes me think it could be wind.

She's happy in herself and she's not crying about it, she just seems so uncomfortable at night which is not nice to hear.
