Over an hour to FF - what’s the problem?

Looking for some wisdom...
My baby is almost 6 weeks old. To begin with, I breast fed but changed to formula after 3 weeks.
When I was breastfeeding, she always seemed to have a poor latch and my nipples (sorry if too much information) ended up infected with huge chunks out of them.
Now formula feeding and she is putting on weight brilliantly so she is definitely getting enough however it takes an hour for each feed! I do have to wind her a lot as otherwise she can be sick but this still seems like an excessive amount of time.
We are using tommee tippee bottles and put HV suggested changing to the medium flow teats which we are going to try.
I’m just wondering whether that is the issue or if perhaps she has an undiagnosed tongue tie?
Does anyone have any similar experiences?

I would definitely try and change the teats first before you start worrying about anything else. I remember the midwife telling me to forget the first size, as it makes it harder work for baby to get the milk and increase wind.

Any luck since changing the teats? It does sound like she is taking a long time to feed and I have to say I would be wondering about tongue tie, especially given what you said about the state of your poor nipples after breastfeeding. Being v windy can also be a sign. What sort of volumes is she taking at each feed?

I’m going out to buy some of the other teats today, only saw HV yesterday so fingers crossed that might work!

I will be frustrated if it is tongue tie that hasn't been picked up on because I might have been able to continue breastfeeding if it had been sorted earlier.
She takes anywhere between 3-5 oz. She seems to be a little and often feeder rather than finishing the whole bottle.
She is very windy! Have to wind a lot during feeds or she just brings it up bless her!
