I'm confused! Does BF once a day affect periods?

I'm not sure what's going on. My DD is now 9 months old and she's been breastfed since birth. Due to breastfeeding I've not had periods til last month, when I assume my periods restarted because DD is now weaned and I was only feeding her twice a day. However, I've not had a period at all this month.
Before my pregnancy I had a regular 28 day cycle, so the fact I've gone 35 days since my last period concerns me a little. I am still feeding DD once a day. Will this affect my cycle?

I have considered the fact that I could be pregnant. Really not sure how, but I suppose no contraceptive is completely reliable. I was hoping someone may have had a similar experience and could tell me that there is another possible reason for such a late period. Another baby would of course be lovely, once I've got over the shock of 2 this close together.

I'm feeding ds twice a day, he is 12 months and I haven't had a period since he was born. I'm sure that the fact you are still bf can affect your cycle, but probably someone else more knowledgeable will come along! Maybe do a pregnancy test just for peace of mind?

YEp same here, down to 1-2 feeds a day and after having a bang on 28 day cycle I now have a sporadic 4-5-6 week cycle.

I think for as long as you bf your cycle can be affected, I got on period when ds was about 8 months and he was ill and was not feeding as much then when he went back to normal never had one for 3-4 months.

Thank you. You've really set my mind at rest.

I'm sure it would still be affecting periods, yes.
