Calculating ranitidine dosage

Hi,

Wonder if someone can help me calculate a dose of ranitidine.
Pharmacy says the mg / ml is a strange one.

30mg/ml
150ml bottle (150mg in each 5ml)

Infant weight 10.5kg

Thanks in advance

I'm a vet and every bottle of ranitidine I have ever seen is 150mg/10ml. I would take the bottle to the pharmacy and ask them to work out a dosage for you as you don't want to get it wrong x

The strength usually prescribed is 150mg/10mls but it does come in a 30mg/ml strength too (though I’ve never in my 10 years of pharmacy actually seen it).

There is not enough info in the original post to calculate it either. It is dosed on weight and age so would need to know how old the child is, there is also a lower dose limit and an upper one (most typically between 2 and 4 mg/kg) so would need to know the dose the prescriber intended.

Take this information to your pharmacy and get the pharmacist to calculate it or contact the prescriber for you if the dose is unclear.
