Salty Breast Milk!!!

This is really wierd. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced it.

DD is 20 months and I finished bf her at the weekend - 5 days ago. I'm also TTC and period is due this weekend. I've also been really stressed out at work for ages - so much so that I handed in my notice this week.

I'd expected to feel 'full' for a couple of days after giving up the final feed (as has happened when i've dropped feeds) but that didn't really happen. It hasn't been till today that my breasts have felt a little hard and lumpy.

Anyway - I discovered that my milk is tasting really salty - not sweet like it normally would (don't ask!).

Is this something that happens when you give up - like it is off or something. Or maybe stress. Or could I be pregnant?!!!

Ta

Normal - it could be both the winding down of bf that's causing it, and the imminance of your period. Both are associated with milk that tastes differently. There are prob reasons for this but off top of head can't remember!

Thanks Tiktok. I'd never heard of that happening before but I guess it isn't something you'd just slip into a conversation.....
