Will my milk supply dry up

I am mix feeding my 8 mth baby but have to go away for a few days, so she will be bottle fed for 3 days.

Does anyone know if I will be abel to resume breast feding on my return?

You will be able to feed her. Your supply won't dry up immediately (as many mums find out when they stop bfing completely, they can often still squeeze out milk months later). But you may find that your supply does diminish, and that you may need to feed her more frequently in the days following your return in order to get it back up again. Can you express while you're away?

I remember being really surprised how quickly my supply would drop off if I missed a few feeds.

I wouldn't think you'd dry up completely, but your supply would drop a lot, and it would take quite a bit of effort to get it back.

Could you express while you were away, even if you had to chuck the milk away??

Expressing would be a good idea as I donlt want to have to stop feeding completely - especially as when she is ill, it is all she wants

In that case express at all your normal feed times, if you can. If you're a good expresser that should be all you need. If you're not, and don't tend to manage to express a full feed, then I should think you'll need to express more often.

Don't worry about wasting the milk. Though what you express won't be drunk, it won't be a waste because it will enable your dd to keep drinking breastmilk afterwards.
