My DD is 10 months old. For some time feeding from one side has been considerably more comfortable than the other. Any problems I had feeding in the early days were only really on one side. Over the last month or two we've got into the routing of only feeding from the "problem" side before bed, in the middle of the night, and sometimes first thing in the morning. Any daytime feeds are from the "good" side. On the feeds where we use both sides it has tended to be about 1/3 from the bad side and 2/3 from the good side.
Over the last couple of days when DD is offered the problem side she does accept but messes around - comes off, looks around, leans up for kisses and cuddles, and then after a short while she has been pushing herself over to the good side and pawing at me and grunting/whinging til I give her the good side and then she settles and feeds happily.
Does anyone have experience of only feeding from one side? If I lose the fight on keeping the bad side going is this the beginning of the end for breast feeding or should I be able to keep going ok with just the one side?
DD won't take a bottle so am keen to avoid breast feeding failing altogether but it's clear neither of us are enjoying feeding from the more difficult one!
