I have a 5 week old baby, had a posterior tongue tie cut, but still have intense pain on one side when breastfeeding. Been to see host of breastfeeding counsellors and lactation consultants.
The tie seems to have been cut ok, but there is a 'tent' of skin behind it apparently but been advised to let it stretch rather than cut any more. There is also a high palate which is the main source of the pain.
Lactation consultant has suggested cranial osteopathy to 'release' the jaw. I'm not happy with this as tried it before with a previous DC and found it a bit silly/useless, there's no empirical evidence it works and actually find a medical professional advocating it a bit
I've tried the flipple method but still finding this one side is causing intense nipple pain.
Is there anything else I can try apart from a shield?
