Comfort sucking at 10 months - fighting the rage!

Can anyone help... 10 month old daughter has developed a severe aversion to removing nipple from mouth after feeding and just wants to comfort suck endlessly 🙄 it’s taking me around an hour to convince her to stay asleep without it after she’s fed. I’m really not enjoying it and getting annoyed with myself for feeling so frustrated.

I’m getting so frustrated and finding it hard not to get rage when I’ve sat there for so long constantly unlatching her but she still roots for it. It’s definitely not feeding - purely a comfort thing. Any ideas or similar experiences? She starts nursery in a couple of weeks so I’m expecting it to get worse before it gets better 🤦‍♀️

Certainly sounds like she using you as a pacifier have you tried to avert her attention to anything else such as a teething ring etc ?

It's when she's dozing off and literally asleep. I've tried to sneak a range of different dummies in her mouth to no avail

The only solution I found was to stop co sleeping. I'm convicned the comfort sucking was disruptive to her sleep. I still let her to do it for daytime naps but not at night - I'm just so ready for a break from it by then

Can you sneak your finger in to replace nipple? It still leaves you stuck there but in slightly more comfort.

It wont last forever I promise.

This is bound to just be a phase. Until it passes, I'd get some movies downloaded to your phone, earphones and distract yourself.
