Persistent thrush & painful blistered nipples

hello. DD is 9 weeks old and have had ongoing problems bf. due to two bouts of mastitis and persistent thrush in my nipples and my baby’s mouth. We have been on antibiotics for weeks but it hasn’t shown any signs of improvement and the doctor has now told me I might as well give up using them as they obviously aren’t working 😞 ! Having read advice online I started using more natural remedies to try to help including probiotics for both of us, taking grapefruit seed extract & garlic supplements, and swabbing my nipples with apple cider vinegar & using cococunt oil plus antifungal cream after each feed, but my nipples are blistered and it seems to be making them far worse as the pain is now excruciating 😖 My doctor and HV suggested i formula feed to allow the nipples to heal and to prevent us passing the infection between us, but my baby absolutely refuses to drink from a bottle plus I’m reluctant to completely give up breastfeeding (despite the pain - I must be mad!!).
don't know what to do any more! i want to keep bf but am desperate to beat this awful infection and don't want nipples to continue to get worse.
Has anyone experienced similar problems and found solutions?

Congratulations on the birth of your dd.
I'm a veteran long term breastfeeder of my 4 and suffered persistently with mastitis, so understand the ups and downs of breastfeeding.
Have you contacted La Leche League GB? There's loads of info on their website and groups and telephone support too.
