i am listenting its a shame that bottle feeding mothers feel so bad but then bfeeding mothers shouldnt be made to feel bad either, there needs to be more support and training for midwives etc.

not sure about a ban on formula? a bit extreme, but why doesnt the gov pay for there to be adverts for bfeeding, promote it as well?

i bfeed, still feeding my littlest, but was lucky to find a fab bfeeding counsellor when i had problems, aghhhhh its such an emotional issue.

I listened to it, thought the people ringing in and saying "I ff my child and it did them no harm" were missing the point. They're proposing a ban on formula advertising, which, if it led to more information being available about formula, as well as more support by MWs and HVs, can only be a good thing, IMO. For example, if the manufacturers had to provide a list of ingredients, some sort of nutritional breakdown, and THEN the 3 main reasons in their opinion to use it over other brands...somthing like that? (e.g. reduces colic etc)

is it possible to hear the show on the internet somewhere?

Yes, go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 and click on the Jeremy Vine show section. Then choose your day and 'listen again'. You'll work it out. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact time it was on.
