Breastfed baby, introducing bottle

Summer2019NewMummy · 28/08/2019 18:24

My little one is 6 weeks old and we’re trying to introduce a bottle of expressed milk. Any tips? What were people’s experiences of how easily/difficult they found this?
Also, any bottle recommendations? I don’t want to affect her actual breastfeeding.
Thank you

We introduced it very early with no issues and started off with man bottles due to the shape of the teats.

I hear some people saying they’ve left it longer and baby has refused so I would probably do it ASAP.

Also unless you’ve no other option, I always get my partner to give the bottle so baby still associates you with breast. In saying that I’ve given my little boy a bottle a few times and he’s been fine going back on the boob. In fact he had a whole night of bottles of ebm when I was at wedding and went back to the boob fine the next night !

Good luck !

Mine took to the bottle quite easily at 5 weeks (we introduced it as his 2 evening feeds so my dp could take over and I could nap after work)
We've got the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles, I was fully expecting to try different brands, but he's really happy with those and switches bottle to breast with no issues.

Thank you ladies. We're currently trying the nuby, which looks similar to the tommee tippee. May try the mam as the teaser looks different.
