Bf bad growth spurts

Do bf babies going for a growth spurt increase their feeds for several days or a week? My nearly 6 week old is feeding for an extra hour a day at the moment, averaging 16 feeds a day or 3 hours in total. She has also been having 1 bottle of formula day.

yep, I found my DS would feed almost constantly, get really chubby looking and then, almost overnight, he'd be thinner but longer again and back to normal feeds. He's 2.5 now and it's still the same (he ate 8 Weetabix yesterday!)

For how many days did the cluster feeding last? Baby is on Rantitadine and has suspected cmpa so I’m trying to work out which symptom are symptoms and what is normal.

I don't have a clear memory (joys of sleep deprivation it's all a bit hazy) but I know it was a few days at least. I'd keep an eye on her weight gain. If she's feeding properly for that long then I'd expect her to start to chub up a bit, if that doesn't seem to be happening then maybe she's not feeding efficiently (could be latch or supply etc.). She might also be comfort sucking, especially if the cmpa is causing her pain, so not really feeding as much as using you as a human pacifier! If you're concerned it's always worth speaking to your HV to check
