What the hell is this? Can I still breastfeed? (Gross photo, sorry)

I'm EBF my little boy and I've woken up like this. Both boobs are so itchy and covered in some sort of .. rash?! Can I still breastfeed? Can't get GP appointment and health visitor isn't answering.. stressed!!!!

Sorry, didn't want to read and run. Do you feel ok in yourself? Have you tried to express a little to see if the milk is affected?

Try calling 111. They may be able to out you in touch with a GP today.

I think it might be worth calling the GP again and asking for a call back. It’s likely to be something really easily solved but it’s worth having this checked out today.

phone 111 and explain you'd like your breasts checked and make sure you mention you are breastfeeding, they should be able to arrange for you to see someone. Not sure what it could be though.

I had something similar. Itchy as hell - put anti-itch cream on it which helped that at least. Don't think I ever found out what it was, but my skin does react in strange ways to things generally so I just assumed it was some kind of dermatitis. Went away in a couple of days and I think flared up once or twice after that. But obviously, see you doctor if you're worried. Good luck!

Hope you got sorted OP. You could definitely still breastfeed anyway, it wouldn't affect the milk. Are you very full/engorged in that photo?

Late to this, but just to say I had similar, GP put it down to a reaction to hormonal changes associated with giving birth. I didn't have any treatment as GP was reluctant to prescribe antihistamines while I was breastfeeding, so just carried on and it settled down within a couple of weeks. Hope you got sorted.

I get a rash itchy boobs when I am hot and hormonal too. It's nothing and yes I could still feed. But worth getting checked out.
