Mystery rash ruining breastfeeding

I'm EBF my 6 week old baby but for the past two weeks I've had some issues with a rash. It started out on my left boob, just slightly itchy and got worse and worse to the point half of that boob had a red itchy rash on. I went to the doctors who said they weren't sure what it was, and they'd treat it like it was eczema and given some betnovate cream. Cream did nothing so went back and got given topical allergy cream, also did nothing. It's since gotten way worse, both breasts are now covered in extremely itchy raised lumps, I've been in tears with how itchy they are and it's so so difficult to breastfeed through. I'm going back again tomorrow, but it'll be the fourth time for the same thing and none of them seem to have a clue. Sad

No pain, just itching
Babies mouth is clear so don't think it's thrush
Mastitis has been ruled out

I would go back to doctor. Ask to see dermatologist.
Since tried allergy cream, could also try allergy pill and see if helps itching.

You could call the national breastfeeding helpline to ask if they have ever heard of it?

Hi @Nobhobs

I know this is an old thread but I wondered if you ever got to the bottom of this as I am having very similar problem and docs don't know what it is.
