Pumping breastmilk

The evil ā€œPā€ word (pumping šŸ‘æ)

Any tips on how I can stick to pumping whilst feeding and managing two crying babies and have pretty much no time or have to sacrifice cuddling time with baby or much needed sleep time for me to pump instead?

Also tips to make it enjoyable and be in a positive state of mind? Watch TV? Make a nice pumping station? Anything else?

Just want to have a realistic and sustainable set up / attitude to make this last and stick to it...!

Need to keep pumping for my supply and to have a small stock in the fridge but really never find the time - and disliking it doesn’t make me prioritise it tbh!

How do you manage? What is your pumping schedule? Do you have one or pump after each feed or whenever you can?

I know it really takes only 15minutes but don’t seem to be able to stick to it (today I have been trying to make time since 7:00 and only just managed to do it 17:00!)

I found pumping from the other side helped me but I know everyone is different.

Do you have issues with your supply OP? Have you spoken to a BFC?

Why do you need to pump? If it’s causing this much angst can you not just use formula for when you need to give a bottle?

I think the OP is pumping because she's been told to do it to increase her supply.

@BunnyRuddongton what do you mean pumping from the other side? And indeed correct I am pumping to increase supply and for bottle top ups (ideally don't want to use formula and even better to exclusively feed on breast)

Sorry I fed from one breast whilst pumping from the other. I didn't have twins though, so if you are feeding them both together I guess this might be a bit more difficult.

Have you managed to speak to a BGC on one of the Helplines or is there a LLL group near to you?

@BunnyRuddongton I have a home visit booked tomorrow!! Really hope it will help a bit as I am going crazy over this

If you're going crazy, I really would give one of the Helplines a call now. It doesn't matter that you have someone coming tomorrow, you can still speak to a BFC today. They're all fully trained and have BF for at least 6 months.

If you only do it to get a bit of reassurance, it will be worthwhile Thanks
