Using instant ready made formula on the go

Hello, new mum here :-)
Just wondering if using the cow and gate ready made cartons out and about we can make the carton last longer if we place the opened carton in a cool bag? Would this then mean the opened carton can be used within 4 hours (through keeping it cool) rather than the standard 2 hours? We would take 2/3 sterilised bottles out with us. Thank you.

I don’t think a cool bag is equivalent to a fridge. If your baby drinks smaller amounts and you don’t want to waste the milk, then you could take a thermos flask with hot water + smaller portions of powdered formula.

No. Once it’s open it needs to be used within 2 hours or an hour if it’s in a bottle that a baby has started to drink from.

When my dc were little we had a baby-bottle specific cool bag called a “Fridge To Go”, which keeps “fridge cold” for 8 hours. 10 years later I still use it for my packed lunches on hot days. I have google it recently, and I don’t think it is available anymore, but there is this Skip Hop one which will keep cold for 4 hours, or this medical one.

Cool bag

Hi, I’ve looked at the skip hop bags that as you say keep cold for up to 4 hours... wasn’t sure if it would be safe once I’ve opened the carton to then leave the rest of the open carton in the cool bag to keep cool for up to 4 hours... or if this isn’t safe and I need to discard the carton at 2 hours but discarding it at 2 hours is assuming that’s at room temperature which it won’t be as will be in a cold cool bag - confused 😐

The milk will be fine from the carton and a cooler within 4 hours x
