Drinking cup for toddler

My son is 2 yrs 3 months and he uses a munchkin 360 cup for drinking. I've tried introducing him to a normal glass but he just doesn't seem to understand what to do. I've tried showing him but he just wants me to lift it and put it to his mouth. I've even just taken the lid off the 360 cup and tried to get him to use that but he won't lift it himself unless I put the lid with the handles back on again.

He's starting nursery and they've said they only have normal cups so I'm worried that he just won't drink at all. But then part of me thinks if he sees other kids doing it then he might copy them (same with cutlery - can't get him to do that either 🤦‍♀️)

Anyone have any advice?

Perhaps try the tommee tippee sippy cups, the handles remain attached even with the lid off.

Then practice in the garden/ bath where spills don't matter as much.

@pastabest thanks. I did try one of those but I think it's the fact he can see into the cup that's putting him off rather then the lack of handles. But I'll definitely try in the garden!
