Hi,

Looking for advice on feeding please. My son is 6months old and taking aptimil stage 1 9ozs 4x a day. He’s also on two/three meals a day. I’m wondering if its time to change something. He drains every bottle. I’m a little reluctant to move to a different milk? Stage 2 etc. He usually self settles and sleeps really well however in the last week his become soooo fussy at bedtime and waking a little not long after he eventually goes down. What is going on!?

Any advice welcome!

I remember on occasion my ds taking up to 11 oz in a bedtime feed. I just made up a smaller bottle to go along with the larger one

I wouldn't change his lmilk just keep him on stage 1 until he's 1 year old then full fat milk after that. No need for follow on milk. Also just go with the flow, if he's wanting milk then give it him I wouldn't worry to much.

My little one was draining 9oz bottles at 4 months!! By the time he was on solids he was having 11oz bottles 5 times a day. I just kept a close eye on his weight to make sure he was still gaining the right amount.

Are you in the UK OP? Could it be the exceptionally hot weather this week?

I did offer him more last night but he didn't want it he was just historical. Ended up make himself sick after. I am in the UK so the last week or so routine has gone out the window a bit at bed time because of the hot weather. But he's been draining 9ozs for a good month or so now. So can't be down to the heat?

My son went through a stage of been sick after his bed time milk think he was around 7/8 months I just started giving him his meal earlier so instead of 5pm I'd give it him at 4pm then milk at 7pm like usual. Especially if it was a heavy tea like mashed potatoes. It worked anyway don't know if it was anything to do with his timings of his meal but he just had longer in between his tea and bed time milk.
