avoid wearing a bra if it's too tight
try and get babies chin near the lump if you get what I mean

Wet and warm flannels are great for laying on your breasts and are quite soothing.

MrsBadger · 23/07/2007 18:06

in-shower combing with wide-toothed comb towards nipple

(yay for milk coming in, btw )

Filchymindedvixen · 23/07/2007 18:07

stick cabbage leaves down your bra. Supposed to relieve engorgement. And provides your partner with no end of amusement. He'll think you've flipped.
Chill them in the fridge first.

YAY!!!!!!! Have been following your threads, so pleased for you, is DS2 happier now?

I did:

Warm shower and a little hand expressing (careful it goes right accross the room!!!)

Hand express into a sterile container and you can freeze it for emergency use later.

Warm then cool flannels (not hot/cold as too much of a shock)

Massage towards the nipple as DS2 is feeding to help prevent blocked ducts.

HTH

feed feed and feed some more!
hot flannels just before a feed and cold ones afterwards.
congratulations on your little boy tutter

daisybo · 23/07/2007 18:13

I found it a bit less painful to comb the boob when I used olive oil for lubrication - was going to use soap in the shower but apparently nips + soap = badness

harpsichordcuddler · 23/07/2007 18:19

hurrah!
all good tips, I can only add:
get baby latched on with nose 180% away from lumpy bit, ie chin on lumpy bit as this is the best way to get milk out of it.

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 18:34

what they said

plus MORE REST

harpsichordcuddler · 23/07/2007 18:36

harpsichordcuddler · 23/07/2007 18:38

FrannyandZooey · 23/07/2007 18:42
