Haakaa not collecting much let down

Hi there. My DD is 9 days old, so we’re still getting to grips with breastfeeding. I was recommended a haakaa to catch the let down on opposite breast when I was feeding. Used it for the first time this morning but literally only collected a few drops. Is it too early to be using one or is there something I can do to collect more? Thanks x

Your milk supply is still working itself out. Give it some time. Advice is to wait around 4 weeks before trying to express ( i know the haka is not really expressing) so I'd say just wait a bit

Thanks. Yeah I’m probably trying it too soon. Will give it a few more weeks xx

You also may just not get a let down from the other breast so don't worry too much. I never did in 4 years of nursing so a few drops seems brilliant! I could also only ever express from one breast and almost nothing from the other (though my DCs could nurse from it fine).

@Xiaoxiong thanks. I will try again in a couple of weeks but good to know it’s also normal to not get much let down too x
