Baby doesn't like formula, any suggestions?

My LO is 6 and a half months old and I want to stop BF due to him constantly kicking and pinching me. It really is constant and I hate it. He's big and really strong which is great but a nightmare to feed. Also I'm back to work soon. I don't want to pump BM, I want a bit of my independence back. I'm tired and it would be great if my DH could finally start helping with feeds too. Problem is he doesn't seem to like formula. He drinks a little bit but spits it out. If he has a bit more he's sick pretty much straight after. And it seems he brings back up every bit of formula he has. Any suggestions please? I've tried SMA, Cow and Gate, Aptamil but no luck with any of them

Have you tried the ready made stuff? My LG often prefers that to the powder. Looks creamier/thicker.

You need to do it gradually.

Mix some of the ready made stuff into breast milk and gradually decrease the bm. It does mean expresso g for a while, but if you have a good supply you could pump enough to last longer than the need to pump iyswim? Especially if you freeze plenty.

Also use formula in cereal and stuff to get him used to the taste, but again, it might need to be mixed again, but with cows milk.

You can get goats milk formula which is slightly less intense I think but I'm not sure if it's a nutritious as cow milk formula.

Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons I bf till 8 months and just went straight onto cows milk. Not recommended but it's what I did after a couple of weeks of faffing with formula: the relative ease of breast feedi g definitely made making formula seem like an expensive chore!

Being sick would make me query cows milk protein intolerance... how much dairy do you eat?

Also stuck BFing due to allergies/intolerances - bloody frustrating that any freedom is bought with time attached to a pump!

Also, there is a section on Kelly Mom about nursing manners that you might find helpful while you're still bfeeding.
