Only wants to feed at naptime

Hi..

I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem.

My 4 month old DD only wants to feed when it is time for her nap - even if she hasn't fed for quite a few hours before she wakes up in the morning, she is not interested in food and will then only eat before she goes down for a nap.

I have tried feeding her in the sitting room before she goes down but with no luck, she will then feed really well 2 minutes later in her room in the dark.

I think the key is to get her to have a big feed when she wakes up but so far this is not working. The feeding before naps then continues throughout the day.

As I am trying to break the association of food and sleep this is a bit tiring.

Is this normal?

I would just carry on feeding her to sleep if it's easier. Personally, I don't believe in unbreakable, irreversible sleep associations in tiny babies. My ds used to feed to sleep, now he doesn't even want a night-time feed. All babies are different, but IMO by getting hung up on theories from books we make life hard for ourselves when we could be enjoying a more peaceful and enjoyable life.
