I posted a rather long version of this.

DS2 is not v. interested in food. think I may be over milking him.

12oz of ff/ebm at nursery each day plus three (or so) bf with me.
non nursery days 4/5 b/f

Eats yoghurt and 4oz milk in cereal.

Do you think I should think about reducing number of feeds(ie drop lunch time milk) both my boys have had to be offered their feeds rather than them asking for them iykwim. we've skipped random feeds (ie lunchtime or afternoon feeds) on various days and he's not worried.

How many feeds does a normal() 6mth old have???

12oz of ff/ebm includes the 4oz for breakfast cereal if that matters!

Don't know what counts as normal tbh. But my 2 had 3/4 breast feeds a day at this age. I tried to phase out the lunchtime one and make that mid afternoon.

So by around 7 months ish we had milk first thing, mid afternoon and bedtime and the occasional extra one if the need arose

As many as they need . No need to cut down what they have so make them eat more solids - they will that in their own time. Solids is less about actual hunger than just wanting to play with it, pick it up, have a taste etc and not all babies will be ready on the dot at 26 weeks.....I prefer the LLL description of around the middle of the first year ....Some babies will eat with gusto from the moment they hit 6 months or before & some like my DS don't start til later & even then don't seem that bothered at first. He had his first solids at 29 weeks but didn't have at least one "meal" (read a few nibbles of veg/fruit sticks!) a day until he was nearer 9 months.....I know a few people irl & online who's LOs didn't have any solids until 1 yr+.

Thank you for your replies. Sorry I popped off to feed the gang. (LO sucked on some bread which I'd dipped into my gnocchi bake)

I guess I'm just getting myself into a bit of a flutter because I went back to work on monday and swing between sending extra yoghurts etc to daycare to make sure he doesn't starve to wondering if I might be overdosing him on milk(Not poss I know!)

I really wish I'd waited a few more months to return to work(while my fairy godmother paid the mortgage) so that I would be a lot less obsessed with weaning etc

i have no idea what's normal but my dd who is just 6 months old, still breastfeeds every 1.5-2hrs all day and 3 times at night.
i don't think it's possible to give a breastfed baby too much milk
