Microwave steriliser

Hello

I appreciate this is probably really obvious but I can't find my answer in black and white anywhere.

I have a microwave steriliser and know that if it remains unopened after use the bottles stay sterilised for 24 hours. What happens if you sterilise more bottles than you need? Can these be left in the tray until the following day if it's already been opened, taken out and stored n the cupboard or do they need to be resterilised when ready to use.

I am currently breastfeeding and giving one bottle each evening.

Many thanks

Are you using expressed milk or formula? If expressed milk then you don't need to sterilise

The minute it’s open it’s no longer sterile

I have a microwave steriliser and as soon as it finishes I open it up and put the bottles together with their lids on. I've been told this keeps the bottles sterile. It's the same with the electric steriliser too.
If this isn't right then I'm not sure what you're supposed to do as I've been doing it for 7months and baby is healthy Grin

Yep, as starburst says.
