In breastfeeding my first, I was plagued with these. I can’t remember exactly, but I think between 6 and 13mo, and I know they stopped all together at 13mo when I night weaned. DD2 is 7mo and I’m just battling one for the first time. I follow all the kellymom advice but the thing keeps growing back and causing me misery.

I was wondering if any of you have dealt with these and we could do a bit of an unscientific study of what is going on with the bastarding things? My possible theories -

Both DDs have had tongue ties which were revised (10wks DD1, 5 weeks DD2) and latch continued to be a bit shit but slightly improved. Both appear to have had lip ties too but these don’t get treated. DD2 was said to have a high palate too.

The fact it ended with night weaning - is it that latch is shitter at night? Or boobs weren’t being used so much by then and could rest?

I have a thyroid issue and hay fever type allergies, is it something about my skin?

I have oversupply and fast let down, although this is improved a bit at this stage.

Any of this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas or things that helped? I don’t think I can suffer this for months again.
