i always get bitten to shit by mosquitoes this time of year, and i got bitten on my left breast the other night. now ds is refusing to feed from that side! it's not painful, and i've been pumping to avoid a blocked duct, but i didn't think it would affect my milk. can't find anything on kellymom.com about it.

Oooh don't know, and ouch.

Perhaps give you gp a call??

How are you, if he keeps refusing keep pumping til he takes it again.

I have never heard of this being a problem, UD, and I don't suppose there is any official guidance on it because no one would think it would be a problem....can't see how it would affect your baby, though. Even when mothers have something mosquito-born, like malaria or West Nile Virus, their babies are fine.

Have you put some cream or something on the bite? Might that be why your ds is refusing it (ie the smell)?

Otherwise my guess would be oure co-incidence!

i did put anthisan on it but that was over a day ago and i've showered twice since then!! i think it's coincidence too - is this a nursing strike or have i misunderstood the term?
