How can i improve my evening mill supply? Baby feeds happily at night and all say, gaving 1 bottlw formula between 9pm and 10.30pm. However he is now getting uoset with the breast after 5 pm and i had to top upnwith formula today - he had been on both breasts fpr 45.min (hisbfeeds usually take 20 min) and still drank loads of a top up. If i pump in th4 evening aroubd this time aftet feeding him, will that help?

I get very little through pumping but thought it might stimulate production. My baby is 14 weeks but 7 weeks developmentally as was early.

Are you sure he’s not cluster feeding during this time?

He might be - he was happily coming off and on but then was very unsettled and upset, moving his head away from the breast constantly and crying. Is that a normal part of cluster feeding?

Overtired maybe? What are the naps like?

Over tired seems likely - we travelled at the weekend to visit family and everything got out of whack.

I also had comments made about him being in the sling too often, when i use it to help him sleep. I delayed putting him in the sling for his nap in the afternoon because of this, which was stupid and I won't be doing it again tomorrow (so silly how these things get into your head, even when you don't agree with the comment).

Would being over tired make it harder for him to feed happily? If this happens, is it a bettet idea to try to get him to sleep and then go back to feeding?

Yes, try and have an afternoon nap that finishes around 5pm and then down into bed 6.45 latest
