Hi all my baby is 3weeks old was feeding comfortably after initial start not to good, then I started to get a little discharge on my breast pads and started feeling a uncomfortable prickly sensation in both my areola / nipple area. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, as it's making me a little tearful - as I'm fed up of being sore In one area or another! X

Is the prickling while baby is feeding or when baby hasn't fed for a bit? When my baby was tiny I used to get a prickling feeling between feeds which seemed to be milk arriving/building up related. It went away as supply settled down. If it's when you are feeding I don't know I'm afraid- I used nipple shields so "missed out" on the pain some people speak about when you are establishing feeding.

Sorry- missed the bit about discharge. I'd go to the GP if it's not just leaking milk tbh.

HI the pricking is all the time between feeds and while I'm feeding. I've seen the health visitor and she has prescribed me some cream and solution for baby.so hopefully this will make a difference
