My baby is refusing feeds. She will only take an ounce then she turns her head away.
She seems fine in herself very happy.
She's gone from 5 - 6oz feeds down to 1 oz feeds.

Hi, experiencing the same! Is your little one back to normal now?

Lottiebugz22 · 02/05/2019 10:07

No it's been going on since last Thursday xx

Have you weaned her early?

Wavingwhiledrowning · 02/05/2019 10:09

Have you tried using a faster teat? Sometimes they just can't be bothered with having to work for it so they start well, and then get bored/tired.

Lottiebugz22 · 02/05/2019 10:10

Nope she's just on milk xx

How's her weight doing?

Lottiebugz22 · 02/05/2019 10:15

I've spoken to the health visitor and she said as long as she's having wet nappies and is happy in herself she is fine and it'll be due to teething. She is happy and wet nappies fine but I'm concerned about the amount she is having. I've rang the doctors but they just say the same thing.

It's making me feel so down. I spend all my time trying to get her to drink her milk.

How often are you trying to feed her? If she's happy and not fussing, maybe just take a step back and let her set her own pace for a bit.

Wavingwhiledrowning · 02/05/2019 11:36

For context, my DD is also 5 months. She has around 5-6oz every 4 hours. Except just now she hardly had anything and shouted her head off at me when I tried. Hopefully she'll get on better with her next bottle (in 4 hours) but if I try her again with this one in a bit she'll just get cross again.

Lottiebugz22 · 02/05/2019 13:05

Every 3 hours but I'll try every 4. Thank you x

I know how you feel. My son does this every few weeks or so but we have the added stress of low weight as he is 0.3 centile.

I honestly know how horrid it is...I have spent days...weeks sometimes in tears. I have however learnt to trust him and know that he knows what he needs.... I get him weighed every 2 weeks....I got him weighed yesterday and he was still following his line even though he has been eating so badly. Just keep your eyes out for dehydration and sit tight..I am confident this is a phase and feeding will return to normal. If it doesn't....fight for a peadiatrition referral. Ours really helped compared to the doctors

On Monday, my son didn't eat for 24 hours, I spoon fed him some formula which he actually really enjoyed. So I just can't work out why he wasn't taking the bottle
