How to get wound on nipple to heal?

I had a skin tag burnt off the Thursday before last on the tip of my nipple. I couldn't feed on that side for a few days, but was then able to feed DD1 on that side (2yo) for her usual 2-3 feeds a day with no issues and I've been expressing to keep my supply up on that side for DD2. I've just started feeding DD2 (2 weeks) on that side again in the last 24hrs or so as it was healing, but it's been quite painful and today my nipple has been stinging and the scab cracked and had puss under it.
I've put lanisoh on which removed the scab (it stuck to my breast pad) but it was obviously not a great idea to start feeding DD2 on that side again yet. How can I keep it healing and maybe speed it up a bit? Any magic remedies apart from lanisoh?

Jelonet which you can buy off Amazon. Tis amazing!

Jelonet is good but can stick to the wound when removed.
A silicone based dressing provides a good environment for healing and no pain when removed. Cover this with a normal plaster. Clean with tap water & a clean flannel (not cotton wool)

Try breast shells (not to be confused with nipple shields)- these are hard plastic and stop your bra or clothes sticking to your nipple. They really helped kick start healing with DD1, once she was latching fine but the crack just wasn’t healing. Keeping everything off it really helped.

I covered an open wound with thick micropore tape. Changed it regularly and it healed within a day or too

Thanks all! I'll pop to the pharmacy tomorrow and see what I can find! Anything that I cannot find will be amazon primed for Tuesday!

You need Multi Mam compresses. (They are the tits! Grin) seriously, they are brilliant, keep everything soft and so no dry scabs to get stuck to things. Much better than Lansinoh if there is broken skin.

This is the opposite of what it seems like you're advised to do (keep it moist etc) but I found Epsom salt baths healed & dried my abrasions/cracks very quickly. I hated lansinoh.

You could also pump on that side temporarily if you're inclined.

When I was first BF I had cracks that turned to ulcers - a combination of MultiMam compresses (from Amazon, but I think they're in Boots, too) and breast shells (also from Amazon) saved the day and the ulcers healed within a few days.
