One side per feed = feeding more often, is this right? Advice needed please...

DS2 is 9 weeks and a big, hungry baby.
I've recently started feeding him from one side per feed, to slow down my let down as it is very fast and was making him very windy.
But I've noticed that since doing this he is wanting to feed every 2 hours or so (he could go a bit longer before).
Is this usual and is there any way of stretching out feeds a bit longer as its hard to feed so often with DS1 (2.5) around wanting attention?

I would feed him on both sides every feeding.

I would feed both sides. both my DC both feed both sides every 2 hrs they only went down to one side when they started on solids

I had one side that was very fast and for that sides I would lean back and place DC on top if you can picture it. It seemed to help.

prob just having a growth spurt. my dd has always fed every 2 hours (i know it's hard, i have a 3 yr old as well) - she still feeds every 2 hours now and she's nearly 6 months old! you get used to it!

I wouldn't mind but he takes about half an hour per feed, so I only have 1.5 hours between feeds to get anything done!

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I'm currently offering both sides per feed. Start with the same side you finished with last time, and then move on to the other side once your lo loses interest. I'm finding that my let-down isn't so fierce that way, as both breasts are being emptied more frequently.

But feeding from both sides simply stimulates more milk which surely results in faster let down? Am bit confused. Started feeding one side per feed to slow the let down (and oversupply) - as per lots of advice on kellymom, but didnt think it would lead to having to feed more often

my dc fed about 45 min. so with the younger one it does take a bit of organisation. I would read to older one or we would watch some TV. Fed time will start to reduce, mine started going down at around 12 wks.

Tiktok might have more help.

he is 9 weeks there is a growth spurt then. give it a week and see what happens. my dd1 always had one side - feed every two hours always. dd2 used to be two sides now one and regularly goes 3 hours.
