How much formula does your LO go through a week on average?
My nearly 6mo DD3 has prescription formula (still 800g tin and makes up same quantities) and it doesn't quite last a week. She's combi fed (although not much bm milk) and a tin really only lasts for 6 days - spend my life expressing to eek it out for a week.
She gets 4 tins every 4 weeks and several times we've had to ask for an early repeat. We've been told by the GP that a tin should last a week - stating that as baby grows they have larger but less bottles and so a tin will always last a week. Although the GP did acknowledge growth spurts and poorliness. We've been "allowed" to have an early repeat a couple of times but it's been strongly implied that we'd be in trouble if it kept happening...not sure what they'd do exactly!!
I'm just wondering if the GP is right or if we actually need a bit more than a tin a week. As it happens she's not a huge eater and usually has about 5 x 6oz bottles, although sometimes 7oz. My other children didn't need prescription formula so I don't recall how much they went through, we just bought it when we needed it.
