Am starting to take bottles out for baby as he is a wriggler when breastfeeding now that he is so active! How long have people kept freshly and/or defrosted breast milk in insulated bottle bags? It feels easier to do ready made formula outside but want to continue mix feeding when outside. (Don't want to pay for loads of formula)!!

Urg defrosted bm confuses me. I know fresh is ok at room temp for about 6 hours; the feedgood.scot website says defrosted should be used "immediately". Kellymom has a page about what to do if yoy lose power to freezer which has some helpful info but which contradicts the Scottish NHS info. kellymom.com/hot-topics/frozen-milk-power-outage/
(But there is reasoning there).

I've needed to transport milk I've used fresh in a coolbag with an icepack which kept it fridge cold for a couple of hours.
